About the Role

In this pivotal role, you will champion the operational excellence of the Faculty's Departments and Institute, ensuring the support and delivery of initiatives by our professional staff teams. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with senior leadership to refine operations and propel the Faculty forward, and to build networks and connections with your teams, across the faculty, and within the university. This pivotal role suits those people who can ensure the realisation of operational goals while keeping an eye on the broader, strategic horizon that we’re working towards, and motivating staff to get there.  Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Delivery: Partner with the Faculty Executive, and Director, Student and Academic Services to realise strategies and operational plans that achieve our Faculty and University goals.
  • Operational Excellence: Work closely with department leaders to support operational planning and implementation, ensuring integrated service delivery across the Faculty.
  • Leadership and Support: Motivate, coach, and guide the Department Senior Managers, fostering a high-performance culture, realising innovations in service delivery, and driving successful outcomes.

Who We Are Looking For

We seek a leader with exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills who can move comfortably between big picture ideas and on the ground delivery. You’ll excel in creating high-performance teams and building collaborative relationships across various groups. Your strong organisational and communication skills will enable you to turn complex concepts into actionable strategies.

 Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualifications: A relevant postgraduate qualification and substantial management experience in large, complex organisations with a focus on strategy and resource management, or a combination of relevant training, education, and experience.
  • Innovative Thinker: Proven ability to operate creatively, using initiative and out-of-the-box thinking to identify opportunities and overcome challenges.
  • Analytical Expert: Demonstrated experience in research, analysis, and evaluation, providing clear and insightful advice on complex matters.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
