CSIRO Agriculture and Food’s Livestock and Aquaculture program is delivering genetic and animal management technologies to transform the breeding, health, monitoring, nutrition, production and sustainability of the livestock and aquaculture sectors.

As an Aquaculture Technician, you will undertake prawn husbandry activities and be responsible for the maintenance of marine ponds and experimental tank infrastructure sanitation, contributing to experiment design and construction and accurately recording experiment data.

You will be able to expand on your aquaculture and husbandry experience by contributing and collaborating with a wide range of people to improve animal welfare outcomes and enhance biosecurity practices.  

You will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of multi-species research projects including the establishment of northern polychaete research activities.

As part of the role, you will participate in fieldwork and associated activities which may require you to travel and work outside of normal hours at times.
