Your new role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Applied Organisational Research Analyst to join our team at the Future of Work Institute (FOWI). You will work under the direction of research leaders and collaborators, providing research support and engaging in industry-facing activities. This role is perfect for someone with a background in Organisational Psychology or an allied field (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Human Factors, Human Resource Management, Organisational Development).

In this role, you will be responsible for responding promptly and effectively to requests from industry partners and research collaborators, maintaining a strong customer-focused mindset. You will engage in various research support activities, such as constructing questionnaires, conducting interviews, and performing basic data analysis. These tasks will involve a deep understanding of research methods and the ability to apply them in practical settings.

Additionally, you will be tasked with developing materials to effectively communicate research insights to team members, collaborators, and industry partners. This includes creating presentations, reports, and other communication tools that translate complex research findings into accessible information. You will also play a crucial role in the development of materials that help bridge the gap between research and practical application, ensuring that the findings are utilised to inform and improve organisational practices.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing coordination and project management activities. This involves tracking project progress, organising meetings, and managing both internal and external stakeholder relationships. You will also be expected to take on other duties as required, supporting the overall goals of the research team and the Future of Work Institute.

About you:
To excel in this position, you will need relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in a related field, such as Organisational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Human Factors, Human Resource Management, or Organisational Development. You should have strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods. Your passion for contributing to evidence-based changes in work practices will be essential in driving the success of the projects you work on.
The role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as you will be interacting with a wide range of stakeholders, including researchers, industry partners, and team members. Your ability to work independently is crucial, as you will need to manage multiple tasks and projects with minimal supervision. At the same time, being an effective team player is essential, as collaboration is a key component of the role.
As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
