About the Role 

The Advancement Operations Manager role at Swinburne University presents an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to make a significant impact.  Working within the Advancement team and reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Manager will lead a small ream in driving the operations to support alumni engagement and philanthropy.  With access to a vast database of over 200,000 constituents, including alumni and donors, the Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring data governance, security, and accuracy.  

By overseeing philanthropic gift processing, prospect research, technology platforms and generating insightful reports, the Manager will contribute to the university’s fundraising success.  Collaborating closely with key stakeholders, including the Associate Director, Philanthropy and the Alumni Engagement Manager, the Manager will have the opportunity to support divisional goals and make a lasting impact on Swinburne’s advancement efforts.  

This role offers and exciting blend of strategic responsibility, attention to detail and the chance to work with a passionate team dedicated to driving positive change through philanthropy and alumni relations.

About You  
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated experience managing a relational database system within a fundraising environment (Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred) with significant constituent numbers.
  • Demonstrated data analytical skills with a comprehensive understanding of data segmentation and predictive modelling. 
  • Demonstrated management skills, with the ability to build, lead and motivate staff, set goals and manage a high performing team.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to maintain relationships across organisational units.
  • Capacity to think and work innovatively, effectively and flexibly in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Qualifications

A relevant degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
