- Salary Range: $84,539 - $92,941 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Senior Philanthropy Manager (Major Gifts), as the Advancement Officer (Gifts in Wills) you will be responsible for securing and stewarding confirmed bequest supporters and other donors, as well as grow the bequest pipeline to support the University's fundraising program.
About the Advancement Unit
The function of the Advancement Unit is the strategic management of relationships to increase understanding and support among key University constituents. This includes alumni and friends of the University, members of the community and philanthropic organisations of all types. The unit aims to secure financial support from donors who wish to contribute to the achievement of the University of South Australia’s visions and values; engage alumni in the life of the University as volunteers, advocates, supporters and donors; and manage relationships with current and potential supporters of the University.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage the Chancellor’s Club and Hetzel Group (major donors and bequestors liaison), and coordinate the quarterly Successful Aging program
- Maintain and nurture relationships with known bequestors through personalised mail, face-to-face visits, phone calls and events
- Undertake research and analysis of prospective donors and accurately maintain the University’s moves management database in relation to major donor and bequestor journeys and activity
Essential Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing or a related discipline or equivalent skills and knowledge relevant to the position
- Demonstrated experience in communicating with and nurturing prospective donors in developing gifts and bequests while maintaining high levels of confidentiality
- Familiarity with bequest fundraising including Estates and Wills
