Are you detail-oriented and passionate about ensuring smooth operations? We're looking for a self-driven individual to join our team in the pivotal role of an Administrative Officer that provide support to a broad range of activities across the Faculty in the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor of Health Sciences at Curtin University.  

In the role you will (but are not limited to):

  • Establish and maintain efficient administrative processes and practices within the area.
  • Provide guidance to, and supervision of, other general administrative staff, as required.
  • Coordinate arrangements for meetings and, if relevant, manage the diaries and provide admin support to senior staff.
  • Provide administrative support to Committee meetings including distribution of Agenda, briefing paper, reports and other documents as required.
  • Undertake initial research, data gathering and collation of information to support work area activities.
  • Administer communications and correspondence for distribution to relevant internal and external stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.
  • Provide event coordination and operation support for internal events including but not limited to sourcing and organising venues, catering, suppliers and promotional activities.
  • Coordinate matters relating to the physical resources and maintenance requirements of the area.
Selection Criteria
  • Completion of a diploma and considerable relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education/training.
  • Demonstrated experience in and ability to coordinate the administrative requirements of a functional area.
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills, particularly in the Microsoft suite of applications.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple and often competing tasks with attention to accuracy and detail within deadlines.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in both oral and written communication with a well-developed cross cultural sensitivity and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to use discretion and knowledge to determine appropriate actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
