About the role

As Administrative Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to provide effective administrative support to the ADVCE Leadership team's office operations. This position requires a fusion of analytical, creative, and critical thinking skills to actively contribute to comprehensive problem-solving and devise inventive solutions. It involves the planning and management of event logistics, workshops, and meetings to ensure organised and effective execution.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of high-level administrative support in complex environments, with the ability to act with diplomacy, discretion, and tact

  • Ability to work independently and to use initiative and problem-solving skills to take responsibility for following through enquiries, correspondence, and activities

  • Demonstrated ability to organise, prioritise work and complete tasks to meet tight deadlines

  • Demonstrated high-level of computer literacy including word processing; presentation software; email, internet and SharePoint and electronic document management databases

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to work co-operatively as a member of a team and ability to effectively communicate with people from diverse cultural backgrounds at all levels of an organisation

  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and diplomacy with an outcome focused approach

  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking ability and flexibility to adapt work practices and models according to need

About the Portfolio

The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University’s strategies related to RMIT’s academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.
