About the opportunity
We are seeking to appoint an Administration Officer in the School of Medicine which is part of the College of Health and Medicine. The position is an integral part of the School of Medicine professional team based in Hobart. The incumbent will be responsible for creating effective relationships working with internal and external health service providers and collaborating with the broader School administrative team. An ability to show initiative, flexibility and work well, both independently and as part of a team across various courses will be a requirement.
What you’ll do:
- Complete a broad range of administrative duties to assist in the delivery of all programs within the Tasmanian School of Medicine.
- Effectively communicate progress of projects and tasks to relevant key members of staff.
- Consult with and provide accurate advice to academic staff and students on course-related information, university policies and procedures.
- Participate in relevant committees and working parties as directed by the Team Leader.
- Apply a Lean methodology to your work, identifying and implementing continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for:
- Demonstrated administrative skills including good organisation and prioritisation skills, together with the ability to perform tasks with accuracy and attention to detail and with minimum supervision.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with members of the public, professional bodies, and stakeholders at all levels.
- High level organisation skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, attention to detail, work under pressure, and prioritise tasks in a complex organisation.
- Strong skills in a range of software applications, including word-processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software, email and the internet as a resource.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to cope with changing work methods and working environment.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 4 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $86,321 comprising base salary within the range of $69,646 to $73,779 plus 17% superannuation.
