Two fixed term, part time position (up to 0.5 FTE) available for 36 months.
The Discipline of General Practice is seeking two GP academics with an emerging track record of research in General Practice or Primary Health Care to develop a robust research portfolio that aligns with the current interests of the Discipline and the Adelaide Medical School.
The Discipline of General Practice supports teaching, research, clinical practice and the development of better prevention and public health policies. Currently, our group aims to expand research activities in primary care and increase interactions with key stakeholders and research groups in Australia and internationally.
The successful candidate will be willing to collaborate widely with other quantitative and qualitative researchers, clinical academics, GPs, academic registrars, medical students, and postgraduate candidates in the Discipline of General Practice, engage with external stakeholders and contribute to administrative activities within the Discipline of General Practice, including the coordination of research projects, grant writing, supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students, GP academic registrars and professional staff. Ideally, candidates will be early- or middle-career research academics.
To be successful you will need:
- Medical degree with postgraduate qualification as a general practitioner (e.g. FRACGP, FACRRM or equivalent) and registered or eligible for registration with AHPRA;
- An Honours, Master degree or PhD in health research (medicine, primary care, public health, clinical research, epidemiology, biostatistics or similar) or have equivalent qualifications or research experience. A candidate could also be considered if they can demonstrate they are working towards a higher degree;
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research in primary care settings;
- Track record of high-quality publications and conference presentations related to primary care research;
- Evidence of being involved in professional activities related to primary care research (e.g. FRACGP, FACRRM, AAAPC or others related to primary care);
