The School of Business and Law is accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, held by less than 6% of Business Schools in the world, and develops industry-ready graduates through high-quality teaching and learning experiences and engaged applied research. The School offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate coursework, executive education, and research degrees designed to give students relevant theory, practical work experience and critical employability skills.

The School of Business and Law ranks well across several respected indicators. In 2024, the School’s Business and Economics discipline was ranked in the Top 250 on the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. In the 2023 Shanghai Rankings, the School’s Hospitality and Tourism Management discipline is ranked 26th in the world and 3rd nationally. In the recently released 2023 Australian Financial Review BOSS Best Business Schools list, the School solidified its standing as a leader in business education, being named Western Australia’s ‘top-ranked business school for quality’ (2nd nationally).

The Role
The Accreditation and Quality Adviser is a part of the Teaching and Learning team within the School of Business and Law. Working with the School’s Associate Dean, Teaching and Learning (ADTL), this role is responsible for managing tasks related to current and future whole of school accreditations with a specific focus on Assurance of Learning. The Accreditation and Quality Adviser will be responsible for developing and implementing continuous improvement processes, tracking performance data against strategic goals, meeting accrediting bodies’ reporting requirements, and developing and implementing a comprehensive assurance of learning (AoL) strategy for the School. Under the broad direction of the ATDL, this position will partner with Associate Deans of Disciplines, Course Coordinators and Unit Coordinators, and provide guidance and direct support to make data-informed decisions to improve the School’s curriculum, quality, and pedagogical practices. The development and maintenance of expertise for key international business school accreditations such as AACSB and EFMD (EQUIS) in regard to quality assurance is critical to the role.

To be successful in the role, outstanding skills in written communication, analytic and critical thinking, collaboration and attention to detail are essential.

Essential criteria 

The successful applicant will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, with a preference for a postgraduate qualification, and extensive relevant experience (essential).
  • Experience in applying tertiary level learning principles and rubric design.
  • Advanced ability to collect, process, analyse and interpret data.
  • Strong project and time management capabilities. 
  • Ability to investigate, identify and analyse problems, and their source cause and related issues, and then generate alternatives and practical solutions.
  • Experience in providing customer service to achieve quality outcomes for all parties, and proven ability to build rapport and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative and commitment towards predetermined objectives.
  • Ability to organise and present information, views and concepts in a concise, understandable and interesting format.
  • Prior experience working on accreditations or quality assurance processes is highly desirable.

Remuneration

This full-time, ongoing position attracts a salary of $100,512 to $112,622 per annum plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
