  • Salary commencement: $70,476 (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role

Academic Service Officers are a key point of student support and are responsible for communication with students and associated educational administration activities at all points of the student life cycle. This ASO role is responsible for undertaking administrative activities associated with the delivery of the Academic Unit’s programs and its research activities.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Undertake administration activities to support the delivery of the Academic Unit’s programs and courses in consultation with key stakeholders
  • Undertake the timetabling function for assigned program/s within the Academic Unit in consultation with program directors and course coordinators to ensure planning timeframes are met. 
  • Provide information and support to key stakeholders on matters relating to the interpretation and application of the University’s policies and procedures relating to program and course development and to assist with student enquiries
  • Use the University’s information systems to access, retrieve and interpret data to generate reports and documentation to respond to staff, student and key stakeholder queries and requests
  • Provide administrative support to the Dean of Research, General Manager, Team Leader and research students as required

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience working in an administrative role in a team-based service environment
  • Written and verbal communication skills including preparation of written materials and experience in liaising with people at all levels
  • Experience in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures
  • Organisational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities under broad direction
  • Experience in using information systems and analysing data to generate reports
